Welcome to our adoption blog!

Thanks for being here!

We feel honored to be prospective adoptive parents and it’s a joy to share this journey with you. This blog is a place for us to share periodically with updates and information about our adoption journey as it unfolds.

Here’s the gist right now: We are just getting started in the domestic infant adoption program with Hope’s Promise, a local Christian agency that serves the state of Colorado. Their mission is to find Christian parents for babies who need a family; devoted Christians who love and follow Jesus. The desire of our hearts is to raise Gracie and her future sibling to walk with the Lord from an early age, to follow Jesus in every way and to ultimately live the lives they were created for. You can see how our values align with those of Hope’s Promise. We are eager to receive guidance and training from these adoption experts!

We are working through the adoption process and will be heading into our admin meeting soon, which will start the paperwork/homestudy stage. This stage can take several months and will include gathering documents, doctor’s appointments, interviews (the adoption case worker will interview us), visits to our home, adoptive parent training and lots of paperwork.

We are new to the world of adoption and we don’t know what all lies ahead. We don’t know how long it will take. We don’t know if there will be bumps along the way. What we do know is that God himself led us to this place and we are depending on him to lead us forward. We are excited to grow our family and on top of that, I know that there is an even bigger story, beyond our own household, that God is weaving together. There is a miracle in the works; something only God can put together.

I hope you stay tuned!
